8/19/2017 - Collins' Birthday Celebration

Saturday - Of course we had to go back to Best Buy this morning.  They gave Joe the wrong size cover for his phone, so that was the first thing on the agenda.  Joy took Dixie and Jim to the Farmer's Market in Gresham, and Dixie texted us that they were having breakfast, just 1/2 mile from us as we left Best Buy.  So we joined them, then drove back to Joys.  Joy and Rich got busy with yard work, mulching, etc.  It makes one tired to watch them!

Dixie worked on one of her flower beds, but after they got out of her way, she got heavy into shoveling.

Meanwhile, back on the patio . . .

Rachel, Collins and Marilyn joined us at Joys, and eventually we played cards until the 2 old guys could no longer sit still.  Then Joe and I came back to RV to get cleaned up for dinner -- we were going out to celebrate Collins' 75th birthday, which is tomorrow.  We had a very nice dinner at Bumpers in Gresham.
Then we reconvened at Joy's to finish the celebration, with cards and a present . . .

(logs from Rich's trees for the logging truck that Collins had built)  (I asked if that was one step up from a lump of coal, but he had actually picked these out from Rich's woodpile last month when we stopped by here)

and cake . . .

We were all glad to get to celebrate with him.

Before it got completely dark, it took a picture of one of the trees in their yard -- it is somewhere between 80 and 100 foot tall, a beautiful Douglas fir.  They have several really nice trees in their yard. We don't have trees like this in Arizona.
By the time we got done partying, it was time to leave to make curfew.  Collins and Marilyn are heading out tomorrow for their appointment for their Winnebago, so we won't catch up with them again until we all get back in Arizona.  We wish them safe travels.
